Marc Tackles Murph Challenge for Memorial Day Weekend

Marc completed the Murph Challenge today with his friends at CrossFit House Party.

Each Memorial Day Weekend, gyms around the country come together and complete the Murph Challenge (“Murph”) in honor of LT. Murphy.

Michael P. Murphy was a United States Navy SEAL who died fighting in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005. For his bravery and valor he was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. The first member of the Navy to receive the honor since the Vietnam War.

The workout consists of a 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and another 1 mile run, all while wearing a 20 pound weight vest.

Murph is more than just a workout. It is also a scholarship fund that has raised 1.8 million dollars in 8 years.

It is also a tradition that helps push us, humble us, and allows us the opportunity to dedicate a bit of pain and sweat to honor LT. Murphy, a man who sacrificed everything he had for our freedom.
